CRANAplus Under­grad­u­ate Remote Clin­i­cal Place­ment Scholarship

This schol­ar­ship scheme sup­ports under­grad­u­ate stu­dents from all health dis­ci­plines to under­take remote or rur­al clin­i­cal place­ments. Find out more.

RFDS Abo­rig­i­nal and Tor­res Strait Islander Health Scholarships

These schol­ar­ships are avail­able to Abo­rig­i­nal and Tor­res Strait Islander stu­dents com­plet­ing ter­tiary degrees in health or med­i­cine, who are under­tak­ing a clin­i­cal place­ment in remote or rur­al Aus­tralia. Nurs­ing or Mid­wifery schol­ar­ships under this scheme are admin­is­tered by CATSI­NaM. Find out more.

Pro­fes­sion­al Devel­op­ment (Post-grad­u­ate Study Support)

The Health Work­force Schol­ar­ship Pro­gram (HWSP)

The Health Work­force Schol­ar­ship Pro­gram (HWSP) is an ini­tia­tive of the Aus­tralian Gov­ern­ment Depart­ment of Health to improve access to health ser­vices in rur­al and remote areas by help­ing health pro­fes­sion­als to pur­sue ongo­ing study and devel­op­ment. Pro­vi­sion of schol­ar­ships and bur­saries to increase the skills, capac­i­ty and/​or scope of prac­tice of health pro­fes­sion­als (includ­ing doc­tors, nurs­es and the allied health pro­fes­sion­als) com­mit­ted to rur­al ser­vice. A rur­al return of ser­vice oblig­a­tion of one year will be attached to some high­er val­ue schol­ar­ships to pro­vide a greater return on invest­ment. Admin­is­tered by Rur­al Work­force Aus­tralia Consortium.

Gayle Wood­ford Memo­r­i­al Scholarship

This schol­ar­ship is joint­ly spon­sored by CRANAplus and Flinders/​College of Med­i­cine and Pub­lic Health. The schol­ar­ship cov­ers all course fees for the Grad­u­ate Cer­tifi­cate in Remote Health Prac­tice, offered through Flinders Uni­ver­si­ty. Find out more.

Country Women’s Association Rural & Remote Nursing/Midwifery Professional Development Grant

The CWA PD Grant sup­ports the devel­op­ment of Reg­is­tered Nurs­es, Reg­is­tered Mid­wives and Enrolled Nurs­es who cur­rent­ly live in a rur­al or remote set­ting clas­si­fied MMM 4 – 7, who work in a clin­i­cal role and are enrolled in a pro­gram of study, course, inten­sive or place­ment to gain new skills and knowl­edge rel­e­vant to their prac­tice and set­ting. Find out more.

CARPA Remote Health Leadership, Management & WHS Scholarship

The 2026 CARPA Remote Health Leadership, Management & WHS Scholarship supports remote health practitioners working in MMM 6–7 locations to undertake professional development in health leadership, management, or workplace health and safety (WHS). Successful applicants will receive up to $2000 to assist with the cost of approved health leadership, management or WHS training/course fees. The scholarship aims to reduce the financial barriers for health professionals accessing leadership, management and WHS courses. We are proud to offer this opportunity with the support of CARPA. CARPA Remote Health Professionals Upskilling Scholarship

The 2026 CARPA Remote Health Professionals Upskilling Scholarship aims to support health professionals working in MMM 6–7 locations to access CRANAplus clinical education courses. This will support access to professional development for health professionals working in remote and isolated Australia, including nurses, midwives, Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioners, and Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Health Workers. Successful applicants will receive up to $1,000 to assist with CRANAplus course fees. The scholarship aims to reduce the financial barriers to course registration fees.
